Are you a tourist or a traveller?
Hello everyone! Greetings from Himalayan Oddessy.
I've been thinking and having a debate in my brain about the word "Tourist" and "Traveller". It is because recently we've visited the Leh Ladakh and was thinking that "Am I a Tourist or a traveller?"
So I've started a research on this topic and found out some interesting things about these two words. According to Wikipedia, the tourist means the person or the group travelling for fun which includes activities like camping, sightseeing and partying with some time with Alcohol products. A tourist lives in a fancy resort or a fancy hotel with all the pleasure in his/her comfort zone. Whereas A traveller is a person or a group who loves to explore the world.
A traveller is not bound by the anything like the time and place. He just explores the true Natural Beauty of Mother Earth.
Recently I and my friends visited Leh & Ladakh, the most beautiful place in India or I think in World, Leh is the most beautiful yet the dangerous places for visit. We just drove and explore like a traveller, visit places that no one else visited, and driven on those roads that were not driven by any common tourists.
